After their mother dies, a pair of siblings struggle to stay together amidst an uncertain future. Mommo is about the story of two siblings, named Ayse and Ahmet, who live in a village near the central Anatolian city of Konya and whose father remarried after their mother died. The film was inspired by a real story and it was shot entirely on location in the village of Cavus in the province of Konya, central Anatolia. Noting that writing the screenplay was an emotionally painful process, Tasdiken says he tried to make the movie less tragic to avoid exploiting viewers' emotions. We spoke with Tasdiken on his personal journey that led him to become a filmmaker and the real heroes behind his new film. Mommo debuted at Berlin Film Festival in February.…. ..
